Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year!

We were excited to welcome back students to Elementary Virtual School for another great year of learning! We appreciate your support and patience as we worked through the classroom re-organization process and some small changes to the French/Planning Time schedule. Hopefully as we are now 5 weeks into the year, students and families are settling into their school routine. Many thanks to the wonderful staff who have supported students through these changes and are creating connected learning environments for students even across distance.

We are excited to share that we have launched this year the Elementary Virtual School website evs.limestone.on.ca. Our newsletters will now be hosted on the school website.

Human Development and Sexual Health Curriculum

As part of LDSB's commitment to ongoing transparency and communication with families, please follow the link to Form 325-D on the LDSB website. It outlines the Human Development and Sexual Health curriculum expectations for Grades 1-8.  Families can request to have their child or children exempted from instruction related to Human Development and Sexual Health expectations by completing and returning an exemption form for each child (Form 325-B) five school days before the start of instruction. Prior to instruction, your child's classroom teacher will inform parents/guardians when the expectations related to the Human Development and Sexual Health expectations in Strand D will be covered. For a more detailed overview of this process, please refer to Administrative Procedure 325: Exemption From Human Development and Sexual Health Instruction (listed under the Policies and Procedures section of the LDSB website), or contact the school.

School Attendance - Every School Day Counts

Regular attendance is vital for academic success and personal growth. It builds knowledge, responsibility, and allows teachers to support individual needs, enhancing performance and classroom cohesion. Families can prioritize attendance by:

  • Discussing its importance positively.
  • Scheduling appointments outside school hours.
  • Returning children to school after appointments.

If you know of an upcoming student absence, please email virtualk8@limestone.on.ca or call 613-542-7369 to notify the main office before 9:30am. Safe arrival will call home for all absences at 10 a.m.
