About Us
Welcome to the Limestone District School Board’s Elementary Virtual School, where we deliver a full elementary learning experience online that mirrors in-person classrooms. Students follow a balanced day schedule from 8:15 a.m. to 2:35 p.m., with live (synchronous) lessons and active participation expected each day. Using Microsoft Teams, learners connect with teachers and peers in an inclusive, engaging environment designed to foster belonging and success. Guided by our mission to empower every student with essential skills for lifelong learning and our vision of a system that inspires hearts and minds, we uphold core values of adaptability, community, creativity, empathy, equity, integrity, and respect. Through strategic goals focused on well-being, literacy and math achievement, future readiness, and responsive support, we strive to make a positive difference in the lives of every student, in every classroom, in every school.
Families play an important role in supporting student success by helping establish routines, encouraging regular attendance, and maintaining communication with school staff when questions or concerns arise.
Each day, students should plan to:
- Arrive on time and participate fully –– this means full, daily attendance and on-camera participation as would be expected for in-person learning.
- Be prepared with a charged device and necessary materials. Paper, pencils, pencil crayons and other materials help students illustrate, express creativity, and organize their thinking.
- Communicate positively and regularly with teachers and classmates.
- Demonstrate kindness, responsibility, and respect in all online interactions.
We’re committed to providing a safe, supportive, and engaging online environment where every learner can connect, participate, and thrive—just like in our in‑person schools.
How We Learn Online
All classes use Microsoft Teams (MS Teams). Students receive a Teams invite from their classroom teacher and must log in using their LDSB student ID and password. If you do not have your login information or need help resetting it, please contact Elementary Virtual School at 613‑542‑7369.
Camera and Microphone Expectations
Students are expected to follow teacher direction regarding camera and microphone use, including:
- Having cameras on during class time.
- Participating in class, group and individual chats and break out rooms.
- Posing and responding to questions.

Students and parents/guardians are asked to visit the Online Learning Resources and Tutoring If students are having difficulty logging in, are new to Limestone, or require technical support, please contact our ITS team at 613-417-3559 Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Devices
Students will need to have access to a device that has a working camera and microphone so that students can participate in their virtual classroom. If you do not have access to a device, please contact the Elementary Virtual School by e-mail or call 613-542-7369 to arrange for a device.
